The Face Gym concept

You workout your body to make it more toned, so why not do the same for your face? There are 40 muscles in the face so by working them out through massage, your face, like your body, can get toned as well.

The facial

I did the Cryo Oxygen facial as a lot of the treatments have Aloe Vera in, which I’m allergic to. I noticed that everyone else was also having the same facial when I was there, which makes me think it’s one of the most popular ones. The treatment lasted 45 mins and here’s how it went down:

How it worked

Step 1: Cryo gun

The facial started with the use of a cryo gun which provides cold temperature and oxygen to the face. The noise was scary at first as it was so loud. The gun was a little uncomfortable but the process did not last long. The procedure had a similar feeling to laser hair removal. The results were immediate, my face looked instantly hydrated.

Step 2: The famous workout

The therapist massaged my face with her hands after applying the training oil (though there are tools that they can use). The pressure was aggressive but not painful. Once she finished one side of my face she showed me the results. That side of my face was instantly lifted, especially around my eyebrows, eyes and cheek bones, it looked distinctively different from the untouched side of my face.

Step 3: Lymphatic drainage

The therapist then used jade rollers to do the lymphatic drainage, which lasted about 5 minutes. I’m not really sure what lymphatic drainage is or what difference this made to my face but the experience was pleasant.

Post treatment

At first, my face was a little bit red, I’m unsure if this was from the workout or they cryotherapy but this went down within the first half an hour. The instant lift result was shocking, I was expecting a lot more time to see the results and I received compliments on my face from people all day. I feel like the treatment made me look more youthful, which I loved.

Would I return?

I would definitely return to face gym as I immediately saw the results made me look younger. However, I would probably do the facial before a big event as the results do not last very long (A few days).

Compared to most facials, face gym isn’t as expensive for that healthy glow. However, it will not help you with skin problems. If you have troubled skin, then it may be better to visit a dermatologist for a facial.
